Strawberry Syrup for Drinks & Pancakes

Use this fresh, homemade strawberry syrup recipe for drinks (milk, cocktails, lemonade), desserts (ice cream, cheesecake) and breakfast (pancakes, french toast).

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries chopped

Instructions

  • Add the strawberries to a saucepan and mash well with a potato masher. 
  • Add the sugar and water and stir to combine. 
  • Bring to a boil then reduce the heat. 
  • Simmer for 15-20 minutes.  
  • Remove from the heat. 
  • Pour the syrup into a bottle. 
  • Store refrigerated for up to 3 weeks.

Notes

This recipe makes 2 cups of homemade strawberry syrup. Keep in a tightly sealed mason jar for 3-4 weeks.
