  1. In a measuring cup combine the water, vinegar and salt. 
  2. In a jar pack the cucumber, dill, garlic, black peppercorns, bay leaf and red pepper flakes. 
  3. Pour the vinegar mixture over the cucumbers. 
  4. Put the lid on. 
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 days before eating. 
  6. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
