6-Ingredient Pineapple Salsa

Pineapple salsa is a fun way to switch things up from the usual types of salsa you’ll find on shelves. This homemade recipe will teach you how to make a quick and easy 6-ingredient pineapple salsa that works amazingly well as an appetizer or a yummy condiment.

How to Make Pineapple Salsa

It’s super easy to make this pineapple salsa from scratch; just follow these two easy steps and you’ll have this tasty homemade salsa ready to go in no time at all:

  • Combine the ingredients. Add the pineapple, red bell pepper, red onion, fresh cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice and salt to taste to a bowl and stir to combine.

TIP: Try to chop the pineapple, red bell pepper and red onion into small, equal sizes. You may also opt to chop the red onion into smaller pieces for a milder onion flavor.

  • Refrigerate. Refrigerate the salsa for a minimum of 30 minutes before serving.

How Long Will This Pineapple Salsa Stay Fresh?

Since this pineapple salsa is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, it unfortunately won’t last as long as many store-bought varieties that are made with added preservatives. The trade-off being that this homemade salsa tends to be much better for your health, while also offering a delightfully fresh flavor.

With that in mind, this 6-ingredient salsa will keep in the fridge for up to 3 to 5 days as long as it’s stored properly inside of an airtight container or glass jar.

Can I Freeze Pineapple Salsa?

It’s not recommended to freeze this homemade pineapple salsa. Due to the ingredients used in this recipe, you’ll just end up losing most of the salsa’s texture; the pineapple and bell pepper in particular turn rather watery and mushy after freezing.

Instead, simply keep your pineapple salsa stored in the fridge.
