What to Do with Old-Fashioned Pear Butter
It’s perfectly sweet, cinnamon-y, thick and spreadable, and works great with a lot of foods/recipes.
- Eat with cheese! Pears + cheese are one of the best combinations (especially with spicy foods), and they will almost always work well together. Some of my favorites foods to add this pear butter to is this grilled cheese, with jalapeno cream cheese on toast, a bagel or crackers, bacon-wrapped jalapenos or baked jalapeno poppers.
- Spread on pretty much any baked good! Especially tasty on blueberry scones, this pumpkin bread, applesauce waffles, pretty much any cookie recipe and on these blackberry muffins.
- Include it with pork chops! Actually, any pork recipes pair really well with pear butter, but one of my favorites recently have been with this pork chops with applesauce recipe.
- Swirl it into yogurt or ice cream! Any base yogurt or ice cream will taste delicious with an added swirl of cinnamon bear butter. This peanut butter ice cream and honey lavender ice cream have always been hits with my kids though.
