Make-Ahead and Freezing Instructions

To Make-Ahead: You can make a big batch of dog biscuits and store them in an airtight container for up to a month. If refrigerated, they’ll last for up to two months.

To Freeze: For an even longer shelf life, freeze your dog’s biscuits for up to six months. Your pup will enjoy them from frozen.

Recipe Variations for Homemade Dog Treats

Pumpkin: Substitute the peanut butter with pumpkin puree and add a quarter teaspoon of ground ginger, a pinch of nutmeg, and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the dough mixture.

Banana: Replace the egg with one mashed ripe banana and add a quarter cup of rolled oats to the dough for a naturally sweet and chewy variation.

Cheese: Mix in a quarter cup of grated cheddar cheese with the peanut butter and egg for a savory twist that’ll have your pup begging for more.

Carrot: Replace half of the peanut butter with a quarter cup of finely grated carrots and add half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to the dough.

Salmon: For an omega-3-rich variation, add a quarter cup of canned salmon (drained) and one tablespoon of finely chopped fresh parsley.
