How to Make Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

  1. Melt. Melt the butter and chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.

  2. Mix. Combine the salt, flour, and cocoa powder. Beat brown sugar, eggs, and granulated sugar in a stand mixer.

  3. Make the batter and bake. Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla to the egg mixture. Fold in the dry ingredients. Transfer to a baking sheet, swirl peanut butter on top, and bake for 35–40 minutes. Let cool completely.

Storing and Freezing Instructions

To Store: Peanut butter brownies can be stored at room temperature for two days and refrigerated for up to five. Wrap them tightly to keep them moist and fresh. 

To Freeze: Brownies also freeze really well. Wrap them tightly and freeze them for up to two months.

Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

Peanut butter swirl brownies are the kind of dessert people remember, combining two favorites in a simple bake anyone can pull off.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 16 brownies

Ingredients 

  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ cup natural salted creamy peanut butter, warmed until pourable

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 325ºF.
  • Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Add the chocolate and butter to saucepan and melt, stirring occasionally, over low heat, until smooth.
  • In a bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder and salt.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment beat the eggs, brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  • Add the chocolate mixture and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
  • Add in the flour mixture and beat until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Dollop small spoonfuls of the peanut butter evenly over the batter, then swirl with a knife or toothpick until desired pattern is reached.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
