How to Make Peach Applesauce

  1. Cook it: Add the prepared apples, peaches, water, and honey to a pot. Stir to dissolve the honey, cover, and turn the heat down to medium and simmer the apples for 20 to 25 minutes or until the apples are soft. Remove from the heat.

  2. Blend it: Using an immersion blender or potato masher, blend the mixture until smooth.

  3. Store: Use immediately or refrigerate the applesauce in a sealed jar until ready to use.

Storing and Freezing Instructions

To Store: Applesauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just let the newly cooked batch cool to room temperature and scoop the mixture into jars. Seal the jars and refrigerator until ready to use.

To Freeze: Let the applesauce cool to room temperature. Spoon the cooled applesauce into ice cube trays and freeze on a level surface. Once solid, pop the applesauce cubes out of the trays and put them into a freezer-safe container or freezer bags labeled with the date they were cooked.

Ingredients 

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2 medium peaches, peeled, cored and chopped
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions 

  • Add all the ingredients to a pot.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Cover and simmer over medium heat for 20-25 minutes or until the apples are soft.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Using an immersion blender or potato masher, blend the mixture until smooth.
  • Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
  • To freeze, allow the applesauce to cool completely.
  • Spoon the applesauce into ice cube trays.
  • Freeze until solid.
  • Pop the cubes out of the trays and transfer them to freezer bags labeled with the date and the contents.
