How to Make Orange Creamsicle Truffles

  1. Make the Truffle Balls. Heat the butter, cream, zest, and salt until hot (not boiling). Strain over white chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Mix in orange extract and food coloring.

  3. Finishing Steps. Roll the orange creamsicle truffles in powdered sugar, place on parchment and chill until set.

Storage and Freezing Instructions

To Store: Keep your finished truffles sealed in a container in the fridge. They’ll stay fresh for up to a week.

To Freeze: Freeze the rolled (but uncoated) truffles on a tray until firm. Move them to a container and freeze them for up to 2 months. When you’re ready, thaw in the fridge and roll in powdered sugar.

Orange Creamsicle Truffles

If you have nostalgia for the classic creamsicle and love them as much as I do, you'll be obsessed with these orange creamsicle truffles.

Servings: 12 truffles

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsps heavy cream
  • 2 –3 strips of orange zest
  • ½ tsp orange extract
  • 2-3 drops orange food coloring
  • pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions 

  • Place the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat with the orange zest.
  • Add the heavy cream and a pinch of salt, and heat, stirring, until hot but not boiling.
  • Strain the mixture over the white chocolate chips and discard the zest.
  • Let it sit for 1–2 minutes, then stir until smooth and fully melted.
  • Add the orange extract and food coloring, mixing until fully combined.
  • Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours, until firm.
  • Scoop and roll the mixture into small balls.
  • Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  • Place the truffles on a parchment-lined tray and chill until set.
  • Serve and enjoy.
