  1. Prep and Mix. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Mix Panko, butter, and Parmesan for the topping. In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder, then fold in Cheddar, Parmesan, bacon, and chopped jalapenos.

  2. Assemble. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the Panko breadcrumb mixture.

How to Adjust the Spice Level of Your Jalapeno Popper Dip

If your dip is too spicy, it may be because of the jalapenos’ seeds. Remove the seeds and membranes to reduce the spice level of this dip and see if that works better for you. 

If you just like the flavor of the jalapeno but not too much of the spice, you can try bottled jalapenos or stewed jalapenos.

Make sure to wear gloves when deseeding and handling the jalapenos.

Ingredients 

For the dip:

  • 4-5 fresh jalapenos, seeded and diced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • ¾ cup parmesan cheese shredded
  • 4 bacon slices, cooked and chopped

For the topping:

  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  • Add the Panko bread crumbs, butter and Parmesan to a bowl and stir to combine.
  • Set aside.
  • Add the cream cheese, sour cream and garlic powder to another bowl and mix to combine.
  • Fold in Cheddar, Parmesan, cooked bacon and chopped jalapeno.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • Top with bread crumbs mixture.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
