How to Make Instant Pot Applesauce

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Add all the applesauce ingredients to the instant pot. Stir to combine. Close and seal the lid of the pot.

  2. Cook: Turn the venting knob on the instant pot to SEALING. Press the PRESSURE COOK button on the side and check to make sure the pressure level shows as “High” on the display. Adjust the timer to eight minutes.
  3. Release the pressure: When finished cooking, use the quick-release valve to release the pressure according to the manufacturer’s directions and open the lid.
  4. Blend: Blend the mixture until smooth using an immersion blender or potato masher. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Storing and Freezing Instructions

To Store: Instant pot applesauce can be stored in a jar or container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Make sure the jar seals airtight to prevent premature spoilage. Allow the applesauce to cool completely before refrigerating to avoid condensation, which can affect texture and flavor.

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 4 large Honeycrisp or Gala apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Add all the ingredient to the Instant pot.
  • Stir to combine.
  • Close and seal the Instant pot.
  • Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  • Press PRESSURE COOK button and check to make sure the pressure level shows as “High” in the display.
  • Adjust the timer to 8 minutes.
  • When finished cooking, quick-release pressure according to manufacturer’s directions.
  • Open the lid.
  • Using an immersion blender or potato masher, blend the mixture until smooth.
  • Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
  • To freeze, allow the applesauce to cool completely.
  • Spoon the applesauce into ice cube trays.
  • Freeze until solid.
  • Pop the cubes out of the trays and transfer them to freezer bags labeled with the date and the contents.
