How to Freeze Green Beans and Preserve Your Green Bean Harvest

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. 
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of salt. 
  3. Add 1 pound of green beans and cook for 3 minutes or until just tender. 
  4. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the green beans to a large bowl with ice water. 
  5. Let them cool for 4 minutes. 
  6. Thoroughly drain the beans in a colander.
  7. Repeat with remaining beans.
  8. Put the beans into freezer bags and freeze. 
  9. The beans will keep for at least 6-8 months.
Notes

*If you want, you can cut the green beans into smaller pieces.
