Homemade Tomato Sauce Recipe




  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. 
  2. Add the onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. 
  3. Add the tomatoes. 
  4. Simmer for 30 minutes. 
  5. Set a food mill fitted with the disk with the largest holes over a pot. 
  6. Transfer the tomato sauce with any of juices to the mill and puree.
  7. Season to taste with salt. 
  8. Serve immediately.
