  • Defrost your shrimp properly. The best way to thaw out frozen shrimp is to leave them in the fridge overnight. You should never use a microwave or anything like that to thaw shrimp. If you’re pressed for time, you can also seal the shrimp tightly inside of a ziploc bag and run cold water over them for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Prep the shrimp properly. Make sure that you’re taking the time to peel and devein the shrimp. The digestive tract of shrimp, while perfectly edible, can often contain bits of sand and grime so you’re better off simply removing it. You should also make sure that you’re taking the time to thoroughly dry the shrimp with paper towels.
  • Be wary of overcooking. Due to their small size, shrimp can unfortunately be somewhat easy to overcook. Overcooked shrimp will turn rubbery and hard; not the texture you’re looking for. Shrimp should melt in your mouth when cooked properly.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined 
  • 1 medium head of garlic, peeled and minced 
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour 
  • 1 ½ tsp paprika 
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper    
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 
  • 6 tbsp butter 
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley 
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimps dry with paper towels.
