Homemade Garlic Naan Bread

For the naan: 


For the topping: 


  1. In a bowl of stand mixer fitted with a dough hook combine the water, yeast and sugar. 
  2. Let stand for 5 minutes. 
  3. In another bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt. 
  4. Add the oil, milk, Greek yogurt and minced garlic to the bowl of stand mixer.
  5. While the mixer is running, add the flour mixture slowly. 
  6. Beat on low speed for 5 minutes. 
  7. Lightly grease a large bowl with extra olive oil. 
  8. Transfer the dough into the bowl. 
  9. Cover with plastic wrap and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size. 
  10. Punch the dough. 
  11. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  12. Divide the dough into 10 balls. 
  13. Roll each ball into a large oval, about 6-inches long and 1/8-inch thick.
  14. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. 
  15. Grease the skillet all over with extra oil.
  16. Bake each naan 1-2 minutes per side. 
  17. Brush warm naan with the garlic butter mixture.
