How to Make Crispy Roasted Smashed Potatoes

  1. Boil the Potatoes. Place potatoes in a large pot with 1 tablespoon of salt and enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and cool slightly.

  2. Smash and Season. Preheat oven to 425°F. Transfer potatoes to a baking sheet, gently smash each one with a glass or potato masher. Drizzle with olive oil and melted butter, then season with sea salt and black pepper.

  3. Roast and Serve. Roast for 45–55 minutes, until golden and crispy. Serve warm.

Make-Ahead and Storage Instructions

To Make-Ahead: You can boil and smash the potatoes up to 1 day in advance. After smashing, store them in the fridge on a baking sheet or in an airtight container. Roast them just before serving.

Crispy roasted smashed potatoes recipe with olive oil, butter, and a touch of sea salt for perfect crunch and tenderness.

Ingredients 

  • 1 ½ pounds small potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
