Why Aren’t My Fried Jalapeno Sticks Crispy?

To achieve extra crispy fried jalapeno sticks, make sure the oil is at the correct temperature (350°F to 375°F). You can also double coat the jalapenos by dipping them in the batter, then in a layer of flour, before frying.

Do I Need to Use a Beer Batter?

If you don’t have any beer on hand or simply prefer not to use beer, simply substitute the beer with sparkling water or club soda. These alternatives are also great for creating that light and crispy batter. Just keep in mind that club soda tends to be sweet, so it may affect the overall flavor profile of the fried jalapeno sticks.

Can I Freeze Fried Jalapeno Sticks?

Yes, you can freeze jalapeno sticks after frying. Make sure to let the jalapeno sticks cool down completely before transferring them to an airtight container. When stored in the freezer, fried jalapeno sticks can last for 2 to 3 weeks.

How to Reduce the Spice Level of the Jalapenos

If you prefer a milder spice level, simply remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos before cooking. The seeds and membranes of the jalapeno contain the most heat, so getting rid of them will drastically reduce the spice level of your jalapenos.

Can I Reheat Jalapeno Sticks?

Fried Jalapeno Sticks are best enjoyed fresh and crispy, right out of the fryer. If you need to make them in advance, you can prepare them, then reheat them in the oven to restore some of their crispiness.

What to Serve with Jalapeno Sticks

Jalapeno sticks are absolutely amazing on their own, but they’re even better with your choice of dip. You can dip these jalapeno sticks in yogurt, sour cream, ranch, or any cool dip of your choice.
