How to Make Coffee Dirty Soda

  1. Make the Cold Brew. Combine ground coffee, shredded coconut, and water in a jar. Stir, cover, and steep in the fridge for 12–18 hours. Strain out the grounds and coconut.

  2. Prepare the Drink. Fill a glass with ice, pour in ½ cup of cold brew, and add coconut syrup. Stir.

  3. Finish and Serve. Top with club soda and slowly pour in half and half or cream. Stir gently or leave layered for the “dirty soda” effect. Serve immediately.

Make-Ahead Instructions

To Make-Ahead: You can prepare the cold brew up to 2 days in advance. After steeping, strain the grounds and coconut, then store the cold brew in the fridge. The coconut syrup can also be made ahead and refrigerated.

Make this homemade coffee dirty soda recipe with cold brew, coconut syrup, and a creamy soda top—perfect for coffee lovers.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients 

  • 8 tbsp ground coffee
  • 4 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 oz club soda
  • 1 tbsp coconut syrup
  • 2 tbsp half and half or cream

Instructions 

  • In a jar or glass measuring cup, combine the ground coffee, shredded coconut, and water.
  • Stir well, cover, and let it steep in the fridge for 12–18 hours.
  • After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter to remove the grounds and coconut.
  • You now have coconut-infused cold brew.
  • Fill a glass with ice.
  • Pour in about ½ cup of the cold brew, add the coconut syrup, and stir.
  • Top with club soda, then slowly pour in the half and half or cream.
  • Stir gently if desired, or leave it layered for a beautiful “dirty soda” effect.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the tropical coffee twist.
