Seafood night at my house almost always ends up being cilantro lime shrimp because everyone absolutely loves it. It’s zesty, the shrimp is juicy, and the sauce is to-die-for.

  1. Prepare the shrimp. Season with salt, pepper, and cumin.

  2. Cook the shrimp in the skillet. Flip on each side until the flesh of the shrimp is opaque.

  3. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and add garlic. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the shrimp back to the skillet. Toss in the garlic and oil.
  5. Remove from the skillet. Drizzle with lime juice and sprinkle with cilantro.

My friends and family are obsessed with this cilantro lime shrimp recipe! It's possible my all-time favorite shrimp marinade and has so many uses.

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 4 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • salt and black pepper, to taste


  • Add the shrimps to a bowl.
  • Season with ground cumin, salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the shrimps and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until opaque.
  • Transfer the shrimps to a plate.
  • Add the garlic to the skillet.
  • Cook for 30 seconds.
  • Return the shrimps to the skillet.
  • Toss well so that the garlic is evenly incorporated.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat.
  • Add the lime juice and cilantro and toss to combine.


  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough and rubbery.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic and cilantro according to your taste preferences.
