Can I Freeze These Chocolate Covered Strawberries?

You can definitely freeze your chocolate covered strawberries.

You’ll first want to flash freeze the strawberries by arranging them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and then freezing them. After flash freezing them, you can then add the berries to either a freezer-safe plastic bag or airtight container to freeze for up to one month.

Just make sure that you allow the frozen strawberries to thaw out for about one hour at room temperature whenever you’re ready to enjoy them.

3 Quick Tips for Making Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Here are a few of our top tips to keep in mind when making your own homemade chocolate covered strawberries:

  • Choose the right strawberries. For maximum flavor, you should be choosing strawberries that are ripe and bright red in color. Just make sure that the berries aren’t too ripe; you should discard any strawberries with mushy spots.
  • Use dark chocolate. Stick with using dark chocolate for dipping your strawberries in; it has less sugar and more high quality fats compared to milk chocolate. As an added bonus, dark chocolate is also an excellent source of antioxidants. (1)
  • Melt the chocolate over a low temperature. It’s safer to stick with melting your chocolate in either the microwave or by double broiling in the stove at a low temperature – it can be rather easy to accidentally burn your chocolate when melting it.
