How to Make Caramel Apple Egg Rolls

  1. Make the Apple Filling. Cook diced apples with butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and water until soft and thick. Let cool.

  2. Fill & Roll. Place apple filling in the center of each egg roll wrapper, wet the edges, fold the sides in, and roll tightly to seal.

  3. Fry & Serve. Fry at 350°F until golden, drain, then drizzle with warm caramel and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.

Make-Ahead and Freezing Instructions

To Make-Ahead: Make the apple filling up to 2 days in advance and keep it refrigerated. Assemble the egg rolls up to 24 hours ahead, place them on a baking sheet, cover, and refrigerate until ready to fry.

To Store: Keep cooked egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to crisp them back up.

To Freeze: Freeze assmbled (unfried) egg rolls on a baking sheet until firm, then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Fry straight from frozen, adding an extra minute or two as needed.

Caramel Apple Egg Rolls

If you're an apple pie lover, you'll love these caramel apple egg rolls. Crunchy dessert egg rolls filled with apple pie filling and drizzled with caramel.

Servings: 12 egg rolls

Ingredients 

  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups oil, for frying
  • ¼ cup caramel, warmed
  • powdered sugar for dusting

For the apple filling:

  • 2 large apples, diced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions 

  • In a small pan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add apples, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and water, and cook until soft and thick. Let cool.
  • Lay out an egg roll wrapper and place a spoon of apple filling in the center.
  • Brush the edges with water and fold the sides, then roll to seal.
  • Heat oil in a pan to 350°F.
  • Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Drizzle with warmed caramel and dust with powdered sugar.
  • Serve immediately.
