Pin ItThis strawberry syrup is so easy to make (and you only need 3 ingredients!). Use it for drinks (strawberry milk, margaritas and lemonade), pancakes, ice cream and cheesecake.
Strawberry Syrup Ingredients
- Strawberries: I would highly recommend using fresh strawberries (and field or garden picked are even better, as they have so much more sugar content and tartness than store-bought strawberries).
- Sugar: White sugar is my favorite sweetener to use, as it just tastes the best in strawberry syrup and doesn’t overpower the fresh strawberry taste you want. Honey can be used though if you would rather use it (just substitute .5 to .75 cups of honey as a replacement).
- Water: Just regular tap water will work great if you have tasty tap water. Distilled can work as well if you have well water that has a metallic taste.

How to Make Homemade Strawberry Syrup
Follow these simple directions and you’ll have your own homemade strawberry syrup ready to go in no time at all:
- Mash the Fresh Strawberries. Add the chopped strawberries to a saucepan and mash well with a potato masher. Add the sugar and water, bring to a boil and then simmer for 15-20 minutes.

- Pour and Refrigerate. Remove from the heat and pour the syrup into a mason jar. Store the syrup in the fridge until ready to use.
How to Store Homemade Strawberry Syrup
The best way to store this homemade strawberry syrup is to simply keep it stored in a tightly sealed mason jar in your refrigerator. Keeps for 3-4 weeks.
